Ismail Darbar is back after eons for just two Hindi tracks in this English film. Both Tanha (Sunidhi) and Toote hue (Kunal) are well-composed but not chart-friendly and quite melancholy. However, there was no need to spoil the melody with the raucous overtones that we hear in the lines Phir kyoon kuchal diya dil, Phir kyoon masal diya dil, which sound pretty unpleasant and gory for a sad litany! Also the second track seems to go on forever. And Ismail will need better scores to come back.
