Well-begun is half-done - or more. Daagh Dehlvi is one of the pioneers in ghazal, which lends a rock-solid foundation to the latest album of Pankaj Udhas, who takes up a legendary writer's work after a good period. The music (Abbas-Bajwa) is traditional, simple, and non-gimmicky as needed by the high standard of the lyrics, but as in most ghazal albums after the '90s, a shade dull.
