Gujarat is one of the popular states of India famous for its colourful traditions in folk and classical music alike. The most popular musical and dance form here are Raas and Garba, popularized by Lord Krishna. Garba is an attractive method of prayer whereas Raas is accompanied by voices, flute, dhol and more. Women render the folk songs during the festivals of Holi, Vasant Panchami, Navaratri and Sharad Purnima. Renowned classical musicians from the state are Rahimkhan, Pandit Omkamath, Maulabux and Ustad Faiyaz Khan among others. Other type of musical practices here are Bhajans and Ghazals.
