Rafi Resurrected Vol 2
Sonu Nigam/Rafi Resurrected Vol 2
About this album
The CBSO does the best of a challenging job - it's no joke replicating the complex orchestrations of our great composers. For Sonu, it's even tougher - he has to manage the unavoidable differences in bars, phrases and timing. And so does co-singer Gunjan.
But commitment, enterprise and effort win the day, along with Tim Pottier's personal and largely-judicious selection. Apart from especially ethereal experiences here like Suhani raat dhal chuki, Tum jo mil gaye ho, Kya hua tera vaada, Patthar ke sanam and Yaad na jaaye, what we cannot afford to forget is that at the end of the day this is an incomparably monumental tribute from the West to Hindi film music and to some of its biggest talents.
