About this album

Sanjay Subrahmanyan, initially learnt the Violin from Shri. V. Lakshinarayana Iyer, father of Shri. L. Subrahmaniam and Shri. L.Shankar.
Later, he switched to vocal music and learnt under his grand aunt Shrimathi Rukmini Rajagopalan and has also been receiving advanced training from Calcutta Shri K.S. Krishnamurthi.

Sanjay has been the recipient of innumerable awards and prizes. He has won the A.I.R. prize in the men's category in 1986. He has also won lots of prizes in the competitions conducted by Music Academy, Madras and other leading Sabhas in Madras. He has also received the Maharajapuram Vishwanatha Iyer trust scholarship for advanced training. He has also been regularly performing in all leading Sabhas all over the country, since 1986. Sanjay is an 'A' grade artiste at AIR, Madras. He has traveled abroad to many countries including Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. He is qualified and practicing Chartered Accountant.

In this concert he presents a collection of Ragas by eminent Composers like, Thyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar, Syama Sastri, Patnam Subramania Iyer, Papanasam Sivan, Purandara Dasa and others in his own enchanting style.
