About this album
Rajesh Vaidhya was born and grew up in a family of rich musical tradition. His father Sri.K.M.Vaidyanathan, was a ghatam and Mridangam stalwarts.
Rajesh Vaidhya started his basic lessons from Srimathi Rama Nambi Narayanan of Pondicherry. Later he had advanced lessons under the veena maestro Sri.C.Chittibabu. His veena - Natham is familiar to listeners in all the European countries, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and Re-Union. He is very much remembered by French Audiences as a main artiste in the ballet 'Bejart Ballet' which has its origin in Switzerland.
'Volcano' is the title under which he has been performing fusion concerts composed and choreographed by himself. Rajhesh has performed in 'Shankara', a fusion group conducted by Sri.T.H.Subhash Chandran, in which Rajhesh has accompanied no less a musician than Dr.M.Balamurali Krishna. He has been giving solo performances for the past several years and participated in festivals like the Thyagaraja Festival organized in Durban.
