Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar internationally acclaimed Sitarist is a unique creation in the field of performing art. A stalwart, who has few equals, has been marvelous as a writer, teacher, composer, dancer, etc. and a genius in playing Sitar. He hails from the Malhar Gharana and is a disciple of Acharya Allauddin Khan.

The first person to take Indian Music to the West, he has collaborated with leading Violinists in the world such as Yehudi Menuhin [Israel] and David Oistrach [Russia] and brought about a fusion of the music from the East with that of the West. A creative thinker and experimenter, he has always been in search of new vistas for Indian Music. His excellency in presentation of Hindustani Music has received much acclaim in the West.

The most versatile Cultural Ambassador of Indian Music in the 20th century, he has been honored with innumerable National and International awards for his achievements.

This album is a compilation of some of the oldest and rare, interesting traditional recordings from 78 RPM and EP records.

We are presenting some rare ragas like raga Jansammohini, Panchamse Gara and Kaushi Bhairav.
