Pancham Ki Asha Vol 2 (2008)

About this album

Saregama presents 31 songs from the R.D.Burman-Asha Bhosle oeuvre on the occasion of Asha Bhosle's 75th birthday on September 8.
This compilation is good, but we are not being merely subjective when we find some great songs missing and a lot of mediocre tracks that stand out all the more because they are alongside the all-timers - chartbusters as well as rare gems. And if the effort to include as many co-singers as possible, led by Rafi, Kishore and R.D.Burman himself to even Ashok Kumar is praiseworrth, one misses her combinations with her own sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar (Padosan, Manoranjan et al). Missing also are gems like Jaaoon to kahaan jaaoon (Anamika), to give just one standout example.
Can we now have similar double-CDs on Asha with O.P.Nayyar and S.D.Burman?
