Of the many pristine and serene abodes of Lord Venkateswars in United States, Penn Hills (Pittsburgh) is the most distinguished, and known all over the world. It is the first Hindu temple in the American continent to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. The groundbreaking ceremony was on June 30, 1976, and the Idols donated by Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams were installed soon after. No one then foresaw that over 125,000 devotees would visit the temple every year when the milestone of Silver Jubilee is reached.

Our priests conduct traditional worship as prescribed in Pancharatra Agama. Many special religious events have taken place in the last 25 years. Koti Tulasi Dala Archana, Ashtakshari Maha Mantra Yajna, Maha Vishnu Viswa Santi and Sri Yajnas and Sahasra Raja Kalasa Abhishekam are the highlights of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations, which also includes concerts, lectures and seminars.

The temple is administered by dedicated volunteers with their tireless service. The temple has remained autonomous thanks to the sustained support of devotees from all over the globe.

Music, dance and drama are an integral part of the Hindu religious ethos. It is no exaggeration that almost every renowned Carnatic musician has performed in the temple portals. Those who heard the concert of Bharat Ratna Matusri M.S. Subbulakshmi at the temple in October 1977 still recall the unique event with ecstasy. We share that joy through this album.
