T M Krishna is the disciple of Shri. Seetharama Sharma, he has been undergoing advanced training from Shri. Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He also undertook special training in pallavis from Shri Chengalpet Ranganathan. He is probably one of the very few whose career began at none other than The Music Academy, Chennasi, when he performed for the Spirit of Youth festival in 1988. He has been performing regularly since then. He has risen to be a top-ranking artiste in a very short span of time.
