Muthuswami Dikshitar was one among the South Indian Trinity composers and composed Keerthanas on various thematic subjects like Sthala Krithis, Navavarna, Navagraha and the Panchabhutams or the Five Elements.

In this album, we present the compositions on the Panchabhutams for which the music has been orchestrated by L.Vaidyanathan.The singer, Bombay Jayashri needs no introduction for she is a musician par excellence. She has emerged as one of the most promising young vocalists in the firmament of Carnatic Classical music. Her husky voice, brisk vocal passages combined with a passion for classicism attribute to her wide popularity. She has sung all the compositions in this album - "Panchabhutams" with perfect sruthi and bhava while steadfastly maintaining the Kalapramanam of the keerthanas.
